so Google Sheets recently introduced this cool feature modern drop downs so we get this nice looking chip style type of drop down in the cell now not only does this make it obvious that there is a drop down in this cell but it also makes our spreadsheets look a lot more modern and thatamp;#39;s not all if I click on the drop down I get to assign different colors to the values of my drop down how does this work itamp;#39;s super simple you just have to go to insert drop down and here you can either manually type in what you want to have in your drop down or you can reference a range and yes you can assign colors even if you reference a range you can then decide on the color if you want to have a color for the value of your drop down in case you ever want to switch from the chip look to Arrow or plain text you can adjust that under Advanced options right so thatamp;#39;s it super easy to add these modern drop downs to your spreadsheets letamp;#39;s hope Excel gets that at some point
