To make a signature line, hold down the underscore key (shift + hyphen) until you get the length you need. A rival school of thought suggests you should type a series of word spaces and format them with underlining.
To add a digital signature, open your Microsoft Word document and click where youd like to add your signature line. From the Word ribbon, select the Insert tab and then click Signature Line in the Text group. A Signature Setup pop-up box appears. Enter your information in the text fields and click OK.

Finding the Signature Line feature in Word can sometimes be tricky. To find the feature, click the Insert tab and click Signature Line. What is the difference between signature and signatory? A signature is a handwritten or electronic mark that indicates the agreement of the person signing a document, such as a PDF. On the other hand, a signatory is a person or party who has signed a document and uses their signature to enter into a binding agreement.
Do one of the following: To apply a simple underline format, press CTRL+U. To apply a different style of underline, on the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher, click the Font tab, and then select a style from the Underline style list.
Use the Signature Line command to insert a signature line with an X by it to show where to sign a document. Click where you want the line. Select Insert Signature Line. Select Microsoft Office Signature Line. In the Signature Setup box, you can type a name in the Suggested signer box. Select OK.
