A CSV file must contain every column for all attributes of its object type. If the attribute value is not required, a column must exist with the attribute name and a comma for any blank attribute values. If a column is defined as optional, it means that the column is required to exist, but the value can be blank.
A CSV file stores data in rows and the values in each row is separated with a separator, also known as a delimiter. Although the file is defined as Comma Separated Values, the delimiter could be anything. The most common delimiters are: a comma (,), a semicolon (;), a tab (\t), a space ( ) and a pipe (|).
Rules for CSV file naming The file name must begin with a table or group reference, followed by a start time, and end in . CSV. The start time in the file name must be at or before the first time stamp in the file. The end time is optional and can be at or after the last time stamp in the file.
There are no specified limits of what characters can be used in a CSV file. What limits you is how your file is encoded. If you recall from our article on choosing the right encoding, UTF-8 is the recommended file encoding, due to its vast support of just about any character possible.
You cannot add color to a CSV file - only a *.
Saving an Excel file as a CSV file can create extra commas at the end of each row. Trailing commas can result when columns are deleted or column headers removed. When the file is uploaded to Clever, an extra trailing comma will skew subsequent rows of data, preventing them from being processed.
This error is usually caused by formatting or white space changes in the header of the CSV file youre attempting to upload.
