[Music] so recently Ive been getting messages for tutorials on how to shade using only graphite in fact one guy was kind of angry that I always use charcoal powder to say he wanted a tutorial showing how to shade with only graphite so in this video Im going to show you how I see the face using only graphite pencils these are the pencils Ill be using for this video I have gone ahead to draw the outline of the face already I use the grid method I have a tutorial on that and Ill put the link for that in the description until now we get started with the eyes of this portrait I am using my 2B pencils to start with the shading and as you can see what I am doing is marking out the darkest areas with the 2B pencil making sure not to touch the light circular white dots which is the main eye shine you also want to take care not to press too hard on the paper especially at this early stage if the 2D pencil is not getting as dark as you would like it to dont resort to pressing harder to make
