Put It on the Invitation The simplest way to tell your guests what theyre expected to wear is to put a dress code in the invitation. There is a time-honored glossary of dress-code wording short enough to include on invitations, or on a card inserted with the invitation.
Include a short and polite note indicating the desired color theme. For example, We kindly request guests to wear [specific color or color palette] attire. Provide Options:If the color theme is specific, consider providing options within that theme to accommodate guests preferences.
If you have a specific color in mind that you would like guests to wear, mention it in the wedding RSVP card or reply form. For a more direct approach, consider sending out a separate email or card to guests a few weeks before the wedding requesting that they only wear certain colors.
Be Clear and Concise If you want them to stay within a certain color palette, be sure to list out the acceptable colors and even provide a picture of them! If you want them to avoid certain colors, for example, the bridal colors, so guests dont end up looking like accidental bridesmaids, be clear about that as well.
Should Wedding Invitations Have Pictures? This one is up to you! Many couples forgo photographs of themselves on the invitation because this can give the announcement a more elegant feel. Invitations with pictures of the couple give off a more personal feel.
Include the Request on the Invitation:Clearly communicate the dress code on the wedding invitation. Include a short and polite note indicating the desired color theme. For example, We kindly request guests to wear [specific color or color palette] attire.
On your invitations add a line asking them to please not wear whatever the color is as you are trying to keep with a theme.
