hey friends this is kyle webster with another one minute photoshop tip this is a really cool way to do what i would call cell shading for your illustration work what id like to do here is come to this layer that has the color and just hold down my command key and tap on it so i make a selection of it and then ill make a new layer and make a mask out of that now what im going to do is draw inside of this layer using a sort of bluish purple hue with a medium value somewhere like there and now that i have that mask working for me i can just select areas along the side that i want to shade im going to fill it with color and then change the layer blending mode to multiply and then i can adjust the opacity to what i think works well of course i can also use my brush to do the same thing and there you go
