Borders and shading are used in Word Documents when we want some text/paragraph to grab the attention of the viewers, making it the First Impression. In MS Word we can apply the Borders and Shading to the written text, paragraph, etc. to make them look good and appealing like they pop out of the page.
Go to Design Page Borders. In the Borders and Shading box, design your border: Under Setting on the left, choose the border style you want. If you want to remove a border, select None.
To use page borders in Word, click the Design tab in the Ribbon. Then click the Page Borders button in the Page Background button group. Doing this then opens the Borders and Shading dialog box and displays the Page Border tab within it.
Click Page Layout tab. Go to Page background group. Click the Page Borders, you may see the Borders and Shading window popping up.
The main difference between border and shading is that border is used to isolate the text from the surrounding content while shading adds background color to the text. Explanation: Border and shading are used when we want to emphasize on a particular part of the text. This option is present in the home tab of MS Word.
You can access the Borders and Shading dialog box by the following method: In Design view, select Borders and Shading from the Format menu.
