A csv file does not have color formatting. You must be thinking about csv files opened with Excel. When you open a CSV file in Excel, it's just a plain text file and the coloring is actually done by Excel. Bottom line is: work with excel files and excel packages for python.
Here are the steps you should follow: Open your CSV using a text editor. ... Press Enter/Return to create a new line at the very top, and add sep=; if the separator used in the CSV is a semicolon (;), or sep=, if the separator is a comma (,).
A CSV file stores data in rows and the values in each row is separated with a separator, also known as a delimiter. Although the file is defined as Comma Separated Values, the delimiter could be anything. The most common delimiters are: a comma (,), a semicolon (;), a tab (\t), a space ( ) and a pipe (|).
Open a CSV file in the text editor. Click Save As from the menu. Specify "CR+LF" or "LF" as a newline character and save the file.
csv files have a limit of 32,767 characters per cell. Excel has a limit of 1,048,576 rows and 16,384 columns per sheet. CSV files can hold many more rows. You can read more about these limits and others from this Microsoft support article here.
Adding a New Line in a CSV File Double-click the cell where you want to insert a line break. Click the location where you want to break the line. Press Alt+Enter to insert the line break.
The colors in the csv file can be in whatever format is most convenient for the tool which ends up being used, although ideally it would be able to specify shades and colors (perhaps via hex RGB or RGBA), however even just specifying the xcolor by name would work fine.
Basically, saving a file as comma separated values (csv) uses a carriage return \r rather than a line feed \n as a newline.
Go to View > Marks and turn on Newline Characters and CR and LF with Different Marks to show the eol while editing. LF is displayed with a down arrow while CRLF is a right angle.
Change the default list separator for saving files as text (.csv) in Excel Clear Excel Options > Advanced > Editing options > Use system separators. Set Decimal separator to , (a comma). Set Thousands separator to . (a period).
