Technically, invite responses should be sent to whomever is hosting the wedding, and the hosts are traditionally the people whose names are at the top of your invite -- most often the mother and father of the bride.
How long should guests have to RSVP for weddings? Ideally, the RSVP date should fall three to four weeks before the wedding, and the wedding invitation should be mailed six to eight weeks prior to the wedding.
Wedding RSVP Etiquette for How to Fill Out a Response Card Include full names. Write legibly. Dont include the names of uninvited guests. If filling out entre options, write down the initials of each guest next to the option they want. Send out the RSVP card ASAP.
Phrases like no children or adults only should not be included on the invitation card; who is invited will be implied by the names on the envelope. You should also leave off registry informationfamily and members of the wedding party can spread the word when asked about it, or you can provide it on your website.
Whatever the reason, its how you handle your RSVP status that counts. Regardless of how close you are to the couple, no-showing is NEVER appropriate. Brides and grooms pay per head at their wedding, so you ghosting them would cost a couple hundred bucks or more.
Wording your RSVP cards is simple: First make sure you have a place for guests to write their names and the number of people attending. Next add a reply-by date, and make sure that it works with your wedding timeline. Finally if youre having dinner options, add those as well.
Heres the key to limiting your guest count: Simply add the text We have reserved seats in your honor, then print 1 RSVP card per party, and write the number of guests allowed for that party in the blank space (by hand).
