so one thing I wanted to show everybody how to do is to shade a particular line to call attention to it so lets say I have this big large heading for my flyer and I want to put a color behind it now most people what theyll do is theyll try to highlight it and theyll go to the highlight button and theyll try to highlight it that way and what that does is it creates color just behind the actual text so it looks a little bit cramped and it doesnt go the full width of the page so if this were to be smaller font oops Im a bigger if this were a fault a smaller font and lets say a deeper highlight color its going to look a little bit cramped and weird so in order to properly shade it what we need to do is get rid of that highlighting so highlight and choose no color and then with our cursor inside of that heading well go up to the fill bucket which is called the shading bucket but everybody calls it the fill bucket and this gives us not just options in terms of filling the entire w

The DropShadowEffect object allows you to create a variety of drop shadow effects for Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) objects. The following example shows a drop shadow effect applied to text. In this case, the shadow is a soft shadow, which means the shadow color blurs.
1:39 3:22 Completely you have to put your cursor right near the end highlight it up to the beginning. Then goMoreCompletely you have to put your cursor right near the end highlight it up to the beginning. Then go to shading and say no color. And that takes care of everything except for the last letter.
A dark overlay covering a section of text or a graphic that makes the object appear three-dimensional. In operating systems and software programs, drop shadows can make interface elements easier to see. For example, a dialog box may appear in front of the other elements in a window.
Consider the position of the light Shadows look unnatural if they evenly surround an object. Adding a Y value to the shadow will better add a feeling of depth by making it seem as if the light source is sitting on above the object casting a shadow.
Add a shadow to an object Select the picture, AutoShape, WordArt, or text box that you want to change. On the Format tab, click Text Effects or Shape Effects Shadow. Do one of the following: Add or remove a shadow. To add a shadow, click the shadow style you want. To remove a shadow, click No Shadow.
The drop shadow (sometimes called a box shadow) is an effect often found in catalog photographs, advertising images, and Web pages. It is created by separating the subject object from the background and adding a custom shadow. Sometimes the background is deleted, other times it is substituted out or modified.
Graphic designers often use drop shadows as a simple visual effect. It gives an image dimension by making the object appear to lift off the surface of the background. A drop shadow is essentially a gray or black (or sometimes color) version of an objects shape.
Shadows in Windows (UWP) XAML Applications Part 2 DropShadow Add a shadow around the bottom-left rectangle. The shadow should elevate the rectangle off the background. The shadow should elevate the rectangle away from the other rectangle. The shadow should handle changing the corner radius to allow for rounded corners.
Using Dramatic Drop Shadows Yes, theyre a fun effect to add and they can be helpful for legibility purposes when the color of the object is too similar to the background. But drop shadows should only be used subtly. Many times, theyre unnecessary (not to mention dated).
So how do you create a drop shadow effect in XAML? Its actually very easy. Just create an offset grid with negative margins (this will be the distance from you object the drop shadow will cast) and add a series of Rectangles with varying corner radiuses, margins, and opacity.
