okay so now that you have finished your do now but were going to go ahead and do is were going to go through each of the seven different techniques were going to start by writing down a general definition so that we can actually know exactly what these techniques are and then once we have that knowledge were going to go ahead and apply the skill okay so the first definition Im going to write is hatching which is using parallel lines to create value okay so number one so were going to go ahead and establish a light source so you can put your little arrow in any direction that you want to but for now were just going to start with um some light sources that come from the left portion so Im going to start creating value shading from light to dark based on where my life is coming from using parallel lines parallel lines like this like the two Ls in the word parallel im the lines that run straight next to each other so Im going to go ahead and start throwing in some parallel lines

Grading Exit Tickets is a uphill battle at times. There is a benefit to not grading as it allows you to get students to openly express their answer without fear of getting something wrong. When I am grading I typically use a rubric that allows students to be evaluated based on the standard and their level of mastery.
Consider how you will grade: Generally, leaving exit tickets ungraded or grading them complete/incomplete will keep the focus on the information in the tickets rather than correctness, and can keep student stress levels down.
