[MUSIC PLAYING] ROB DODSON: Hey, everybody, whats up? Its Rob Dodson. Welcome back to the A11ycasts show. Today I want to talk about how we label elements inside of the Shadow DOM. So this is a topic that is kind of near and dear to my heart, because I do a lot of web components work on my other show, Polycasts, and recently I had a Googler docHub out to me who was trying to build some interactive controls, but wasnt quite sure how to associate them with a label element. So follow me over here to my laptop. And you can see that Ive gone ahead and Ive set up a little example. So Ive got a label element here that just says First Name as the text content. And inside Ive got a custom element that Ive been working on called Element Without Label. So this is a custom element with a little bit of Shadow DOM. And if we go and look at the browser, you can see that what it actually renders is just like a regular old input control. So if I go in my Inspector, I can see that label ther

HTML has a link element to link to external style sheets, but not every XML-based format will have such an element. If there is no suitable element, you can still attach external style sheets by means of the xml-stylesheet processing instruction like this:
There are three ways to add CSS to HTML. You can add inline CSS in a style attribute to style a single HTML element on the page. You can embed an internal stylesheet by adding CSS to the head section of your HTML doc. Or you can link to an external stylesheet that will contain all your CSS separate from your HTML.
Node labeling in XML data is one way to increase the efficiency of query processing. Labeling means allocating a unique identifier to each node in XML documents [2]. A labeling scheme encompasses traversal or browsing the document, analyzing the elements, and assessing available relationships between elements.
Basic steps in defining a CSS style sheet for XML : Define the style rules for the text elements such as font-size, color, font-weight, etc. Define each element either as a block, inline or list element, using the display property of CSS. Identify the titles and bold them.
The keyword xml-stylesheet indicates that the document has a link to a style sheet in the same way as a LINK element with REL=stylesheet in HTML. There are some variations of this processing instruction corresponding to the different variants of LINK in HTML. The LINK mechanism is the simplest to use.
In HTML (or XML) coding, colors are defined with statements:#rrggbb, where rr, gg, bb represent the hexidecimal number for the proportion of Red, Green and Blue respectively. 00 represents an absence of the appropriate color, ff (= decimal 255) represents the maximum amount.
A color value defined in XML. The color is specified with an RGB value and alpha channel. You can use a color resource any place that accepts a hexadecimal color value. You can also use a color resource when a drawable resource is expected in XML (for example, android:drawable=@color/green ).
Create the style sheet Select File New Other. In the New window, select XML XSL. Click Next. Select the MyProject directory. In the File name field, type CDTitle. xsl and click Next. In the Select XML file page, select the CDTitle. xml file. This associates the CDTitle. xml file with the CDTitle. Click Finish.
