Which has to do with a variation.
Shading occurs when ink spreads across paper in different thicknesses. In other words, when there is more ink on one part of the paper than another. Take a look at this example: Fountain Pen Ink Shading – notice how the same ink looks dark and light. You can see that some letters are much darker than others.
Sheen in an ink is an appearance that the ink shines with a different color, that appears metallic or shiny. Sheen is different than shimmer, which is when metallic particles are added to the ink.
Guide to Shading Techniques: Hatching, Cross-Hatching, Scribbling and Others.
There is one main difference between shading with a pencil and shading with a pen: with pencil, you can apply shading by increasing pressure - in other words, pressing the pencil harder against the paper in the areas that you want to appear darker.

Um by scribbling. In our shading you see this a lot or i see it often in comics.
Shading is where the ink pools in different spots during use, creating lighter spots and darker spots. I base my opinion of an ink's shading based on how much it shows up when using five different nib sizes: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, and flex.
Darken the areas that are furthest from the light source. Press slightly harder with your pencil to make darker values on the opposite side of your light source. Build up layers of shading, working towards the darkest part of the drawing. Your darkest shadow is called the core shadow.
Parallel lines A different way to create shadows with ink is by drawing parallel lines that follow the shape of the object that we're inking. In other words, if we're adding shadows to a cylindrical object, the parallel lines will be curved, adhering to its shape.
More so than with other inks, there is a particular technique for filling your fountain pen with shimmering inks. The sparkle additives will settle, so you need to gently shake the bottle of ink before filling it. Make sure to shake it slowly so that no air bubbles form because this can cause flow issues!
