Hey there event geeks, welcome to this weeks Run of Show. Im Ben Hindman, CEO of Splash and this week were gonna dive into a topic that I am super duper excited about. Its a shift were watching a shift in our industry and actually I first learned about it about a year ago. I got a call from a customer and she told me that she just got a job promotion and I asked, What is your new title? and she said, My new job title is the VP of Event Operations. I actually immediately googled it and lo and behold there were all sorts of job descriptions online for head of event ops, head of event technology and operations, then technology manager. Really cool job descriptions and so Ive started to call this shift the shift from EP, event planner to VP, the VP, vice president mentality. You know when were talking about EPs were typically talking about people who are responsible for the project management, right? Theyre- theyre focused on the event, hiring vendors, buying linens, getting
