14-16 weeks Vets generally prefer to give the final DAP vaccine at 16 weeks or later. Additionally, your state may require your pet to get a rabies vaccine earlier than this time period, so please check your state laws and adhere to that schedule. Core: DAP/DHP (canine distemper, adenovirus/hepatitis, parvovirus)
Vaccination of dogs, ferrets, and livestock can be started at no sooner than three months of age.
Side effects can include mild fever, mild loss of appetite and mild to moderate loss of energy for 24 to 36 hours after vaccination. Its also possible for dogs to experience soreness and mild swelling at the injection site. Some dogs dont experience any side effects at all.
In most states, the first vaccination is given to your puppy when they are between 14-16 weeks of age and is followed by a booster shot one year after the initial vaccine. After that, your dog should receive a rabies booster every 1-3 years, depending on state law and the type of vaccine used.
NOTE: Deviations of a few days from this recommended schedule are fine. Patients who are two or three days late (or early) for their next rabies shot should continue the series and keep the recommended spacing between doses. Clean and gently rinse out the wound(s) for 15 minutes to help remove dirt and germs.
In general, a puppy should start vaccines as soon as you get the puppy (this is usually between 6 and 8 weeks) and then every two weeks until approximately four months of age when it will receive the final round.
If the vaccination is performed prior to the expiration date, it will have a 3 year duration. However, even if it is 1 day overdue, it will be a 1 year vaccination. All puppies require the Distemper-Parvo-Adenovirus (AKA DHPP) vaccine starting at 6-8 weeks of age.
DA2PPV: This vaccine helps build immunity against distemper virus, adenovirus 2 (hepatitis), parainfluenza virus, parvovirus. This is a modified live vaccine. 2. Rabies: This vaccine protects against rabies virus.
NOBIVAC 1-RABIES PROVIDES PROTECTION AGAINST RABIES. This product has been shown to be effective for the vaccination of healthy dogs, cats and ferrets 12 weeks of age or older against rabies. Duration of immunity of at least 1 year has been demonstrated after repeat dose.
Imovax Rabies is a vaccine indicated for pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies. Imovax Rabies vaccine is approved for use in all age groups. The following factors should be considered before antirabies prophylaxis is initiated.
