were going to be using our ink cheating techniques on forms i started with my pencil sphere with my light source on the top right siding down and i have five layers of value so when i start im making curved marks and making a very light even layer thats very smooth going all around my sphere doesnt work im trying to fill in any gaps to make sure this as smooth as possible leaving a bright white highlight okay now im going to lay in my second layer moving out toward the edge using the same light pressure to build up my level 2 value as i finish this layer i want to think about how i can blend those two layers together so i dont end up with a harsh line i do the even lighter pressure now im starting layer three as you can see that the shadow is getting deeper not by my pressure but by adding that light layer of graphite to the paper okay now im working on layer four where the deepest shadow is going to be still trying to blend those layers together now with more pressure im go
