for shadow roots I like to use red can shade EQ Im using 66 and 7 and all equal parts for her formula here as you can see Im working up through her head grabbing thin sections and combing everything down smoothly with the comb and then Im applying the toner at the root of her scalp only about an inch down you can bring this down further if someone has not lifted evenly or you have some splotchiness that you want to cover or even out you can bring your shadow root down lower or if they like the look where their roots are a little bit darker and their lower and then they get lighter on the bottom this is another way that you would put the shadow root to a lower point but for her Im actually going to be using three different colors so Im starting off with the darkest tone thats right up at the root only an inch down and then Im going to use another color thats a little bit lighter than this its going to be applied right underneath that color and then Im going to finish off with
