hi my name is James Clem I want to talk to you about how do we match proper color of our restoration to the teeth that were working on its been a dilemma for many including myself through the years I find that working with all ceramic dentistry is easier for me but lets go through a few concepts if you look at matching theres three things we need a match we need to match value thats the brilliance of the ceramic that were placing in the mouth we need to match the hue thats the color of a ceramic and then we need to match the saturation thats the intensity of color which is usually down there at the cervical zone when Im shade matching the most important thing we want to get right is brilliance so thats called value thats on a scale between white and black thats value when the value isnt on the teeth look non-vital when Im color matching Im looking to color match the incisal or cusp l 1/2 so in other words my primary color match zone to start with is not a cervical zone
