installing sail shades is a great affordable option but theres a few details that can make or break your sail shades the first thing that youre going to want to do is pick out the shape of your sail shade i would recommend a square or a rectangle i know a lot of you guys like the triangle look but for one youre not going to get as much shade for two you can actually manipulate the square of the rectangle to make the design that you want how you secure your sail shade is the next question now you can secure it to a house or maybe you have a tree but most of you arent going to be lucky enough to have four things that you can attach it to that is strong enough to withstand the tension because theres going to be a lot of tension so only secure it to your house if its just something strong enough that can withstand the tension so most of you are going to want to do this option so this is a 4x6 and the reason that i chose something so big is because im compensating no but for real gu

The Shibumi Shade can withstand wind speeds as high as 30 mph. “It's really lightweight so anyone in your family can carry it, from a young child to an older adult,” Scott says. As many as six adults can sit comfortably under the shade.
It is recommended to use a round steel post with a minimum diameter of 90mm, or a 90x90mm square steel post. Post wall thickness should be a minimum of 3.5mm.
Yes, we've seen sail shades successfully attached to both metal and wood fences, but only to the posts. The sail shade can create supplementary force on the fence post so you will want to reinforce it with additional concrete.
Our understanding is that these towns created their beach shade rules long before Shibumi Shade, primarily to prohibit heavy and bulky “tailgate” tents. To our knowledge, Shibumi Shades are allowed on every beach in the United States except Myrtle and North Myrtle Beach, SC and Rehoboth and Bethany Beach, DE.
How does it work? The Shibumi Shade canopy is designed to float effortlessly on the ocean breeze. As little as 3 mph of wind is all it takes to keep the canopy floating comfortably. Because the canopy has no rigid structure, the Shibumi Shade cannot fly away in a strong gust, or tumble down the beach.
The Shibumi Shade does need wind in order to work properly! Just 2-3 mph of breeze is all Shibumi needs, and most beaches will have a sufficient breeze more than 90% of the time.
The curves, also known as gores, allows for proper tensioning so that the shade sail does not move about in the wind. The shade sail should be installed with some slope or incline, at least 1:6, with the slant flowing water away from the building or structure to prevent flooding and pooling water.
A Shibumi Shade is worth the investment if you go to the beach regularly, have lots of stuff to haul, and want shade. The shade will provide you with shade that won't blow away and is super lightweight to carry.
With 150 square feet of coverage, this tent can easily accommodate 4 adults easily. You may be wondering if the tent can provide good sun protection for you and your guests. The answer is yes! The Shibumi Tent is made with high-quality materials that offer UV protection.
Post lengths should be taken into account with the proposed height of the sail plus the depth of your footings. Footing depth should be a minimum of 36 inches deep and 30inches square. For example, if your post height is higher than 8 feet, we recommend a hole depth 40% of the height above ground.
