hi everyone Anthony moriganti here in todays video Im going to talk to you about a product called Rosie now I have no affiliation with the company theyre not paying me to do this video and if you purchase their application I will not make a commission on the sale the reason why Im talking about it today is I know that some of you have computers with hard drives that are nearly full and you cant afford to buy a new hard drive and or you cant afford to buy a new computer while this is where Rossi might be able to help you they claim they could take a raw file and make it five times smaller without having those lossy artifact issues or color shifts that you would get if you convert your files to law C D and G files you can see right here that they claim to have unmatched image quality no lossy artifacts no resolution change no big count change and no color loss the app is currently available for Macs its supposed to be available for PC very soon in the description below this video

The bottom line. RAWs give you more information to work with, but you have to put more time into that work. If speed is of the essence or you want a point-and-shoot experience that yields photos ready to use out of the box, JPEGs might actually be a better option than RAWs.
The main advantage of shooting in RAW is that you end up with high-quality files to edit into the best possible image. Capturing and storing all the details that pass through your cameras sensors means RAW files contain a wider dynamic range and far greater color spectrum than JPEGs.
With JPEG files, the white balance is already balanced. This is a big reason why JPEGs look more finished than their RAW counterparts straight off the camera. A change you can make in a one-step increment in Lightroom, like white balance, you can only make in a five-step increment with JPEGs, Morrison points out.
Also in sports photography or anytime shooting multiple frames per second, to shoot in JPEG is almost a necessity since the smaller size processes in your camera quicker where shooting in RAW can quickly fill your buffer. If you dont have photo editing software that will read and process a RAW file.
RAW files capture all the data from your camera sensor and save it for a wide range of adjustment opportunities post processing. JPEG files save a web-optimized and compressed (smaller) file that saves less photo data and provides fewer editing options in post processing.
RAW + JPEG: The Best of Both Worlds Shooting in RAW and JPEG at the same time gives you greater flexibility. Photo by: Iurie Belegurschi. Most digital cameras these days will allow for you to record the same image in both JPEG and RAW formats, at the same time. This gives you increased flexibility with your files.
As you can see, changing the white balance setting in the camera doesnt affect the underlaying RAW data in any way. The histograms are the same, and adjusting the white balance to the same value on all of the shots results in the same look and color.
Choose JPEG for quick and simple shots. RAW is the way to go for detailed, stylised shoots In order to edit your photos later, RAW is the best format to shoot in. If you want to spend a lot of time adjusting the white balance, colours, and tones of your images for your portfolio, you should shoot in the RAW format.
