In this tutorial, we are focusing on shading in our sketchbooks. We have previously learned about cross hatching and hatching lines for shading, as well as practiced creating a value scale. Today, we are going to blend or shade in a different way to make something round appear more like a ball. The light source is coming from a specific direction, so one side will be lighter and the other side will be darker. To create this effect, we need to shade slowly and apply firm pressure with our pencil to maintain the curved shape. This is a challenging part of the process, but with practice, we can achieve a realistic round shape.
