In the Business Model Canvas, the Channels component refers to the various ways a business docHubes and interacts with its customers in order to deliver its value proposition. It encompasses the distribution and communication methods used to make products or services accessible to the target market.
In BMC, Channels are located between Value Propositions and Customer Segments. With this layout, you can match a specific value to a particular customer segment via an appropriate channel. Types of Channels may include: sales network, wholesalers, online retailers and own Internet sales.
Customers move through five phases in a companys channels along various customer touch points. These phases are Awareness, Evaluation, Purchase, Delivery, and After Sales (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010, p. 26).
The Business Model Canvas consists of nine essential parts: Customer Segments, Value Proposition, Revenue Streams, Channels, Customer Relationships, Key Activities, Key Resources, Key Partners, and Cost Structure.
The Key partners element in the Business Model Canvas refers to the external entities or organizations that collaborate with a business to enhance its operations, leverage resources, and create mutual value.
