hello everyone iamp;#39;m dr zarkalathi from edc mythbusters and today iamp;#39;m here with the topic shade selection in dentistry uh because we can see that some of the questions have been asked in paper 2 regarding shade selection so we wanted to have a detailed explanation regarding this topic because this is a really confusing topic for everyone now before we go into the details of shade selection uh let us first know some basic points like how do we see color now how do we perceive color of a particular object now what happens whenever light falls on a particular thing itamp;#39;s it starts absorbing some amount of light and it starts reflecting some part of that light now the light which is reflected back is taken up by our eyes and that is how we perceive the color of that object like if the light falls on a blue object itamp;#39;s going to absorb all the lights and is going to reflect only those rays which correspond to blue wavelengths so that is how we perceive it as blue

Although not an official certification at this time, coffee labeled Shade-Grown simply means producers provide shade for coffee plants in order to mimic natural forest ecosystems and promote biodiversity. As a label, it is very similar to the Smithsonians Bird-Friendly certification program.
Organic beans are farmed without the use of synthetic fertilizer and genetic modification while regular coffee beans may have been exposed to both. These opposing farming methods require different cultivation techniques, which ultimately result in end products that can differ in everything from taste to price.
In the case of organic coffee, there are no synthetic fertilizers or chemicals used in growing or production, which means cleaner beans, air, land, and water. The coffee is grown with only organic fertilizers, like coffee pulp, chicken manure, or compost.
Read the label and look for words such as bird friendly, fair trade, certified organic, etc. Country of origin is an indicator. While there are exceptions, coffee produced from southern Mexico, El Salvador, Peru, Panama, Nicaragua, and Guatemala are primarily shade grown.
How to know if your coffee is shade grown: Look for coffee plantations which state in their literature, or on their website, that they produce shade-grown coffee and use no pesticides or herbicides. Read the label and look for words such as bird friendly, fair trade, certified organic, etc.
Almost no Plantation or Estate coffees are shade-grown, as those owners have sacrificed environment to efficiency. Not all organic coffees are shade-grown, either (on some farms and cooperatives only a portion of their crop is shade-grown).
What Does Certified Coffee Mean? Certified coffees take one or more aspects of sustainability into account. This means the coffee was grown in a healthy environment, is economically viable for farmers, promotes fairness among farmers and workers, or all three aspects.
