good day and welcome to the channel in this short video were going to explain how to ldap s or secure ldap in case youre not familiar with what ldap is it stands for lightweight directory access protocol and really what its doing in a windows network is allowing things that are not in active directory to talk to active directory and take out usernames and passwords credentials things like that lets get to it ill explain the setup we have first because you know ive seen a bunch of videos where people have these labs with one computer in them and not very useful because theres more to it than that so im going to show you what would actually exist in a probably in your network what ive got here is you can see that these are labels so this is a dc2 you can ignore the dc number but anyway its server 2022 and ive got a dc8 here sorry 2019 and i have a member server which is running server 22 and i have windows 11 box so ive got the domain already set up ive got two domain contr

Cannot contact LDAP Server: If you receive a Cannot connect to the LDAP Server error message, try to connect using the LDAP Server IP address. You should also check to be sure the LDAP machine is running. Another possibility is that the SSL certificate files are not valid.
Select Start Run, type ldp.exe, and then select OK. Select Connection Connect. In Server and in Port, type the server name and the non-SSL/TLS port of your directory server, and then select OK. For an Active Directory Domain Controller, the applicable port is 389.
Configure LDAP authentication with Active Directory In the Users application, click Configure Authentication in the sidebar. Choose LDAP in the Authentication drop-down list. Add a Harness User Group with LDAP users​ In your Harness Account, click Account Settings. Click Access Control and click User Groups. Click New User Group. Enter a Name for your User Group and click Save. Click on your User Group and then click Link to SSO Provider Group. Search and select your LDAP Provider.
You can start and stop the LDAP server using commands. To start the LDAP server, use the command: $ su root -c /usr/local/libexec/slapd. To stop the LDAP server, use the command: $ kill `pgrep slapd`
