So, as Ive been coaching teachers recently, one topic that keeps coming up is how could I have an exit ticket when Im teaching an online live lesson or even a recorded lesson. An exit ticket is a great tool that teachers use to do a quick assessment after a mini-lesson to see what they really have grasped onto and understood and maybe what you need to do some more explicit teaching and modeling in. And its also great for that interaction and engagement for the student. And so I have three different ways that Im going to share with you today that I think you could use an exit ticket and when youre live online teaching or recording. Hopefully itll spark some ideas in you because I think the possibilities are really endless with this. The first idea that I want to share with you is Google Jamboard. Google Jamboard is an extension, so if you look over here, like in your Google apps, its right down here as an extension. If its not there, you can add it ve

How to Use Create. Decide what youd like to find out about students learning at the end of the lesson. Write a question or pose a problem on the Exit Ticket, or post the question or problem for students to see. Collect. Set a specific amount of time for students to complete the Exit Ticket. Clarify.
Some recommendations for exit tickets include: Exit tickets should be low stakes (i.e. not graded). Two to five questions are fine, students should be able to complete finish in a few minutes. Embed exit tickets through your teaching units and not just the end of a unit or semester.
The 3-2-1 exit slip strategy is a method of summarizing ones learning with a basic format in which: Students write three things they learned in todays lesson. Next, students write two things they liked or two interesting facts about the lesson. Finally, students write one question they still have about the lesson.
Some possible prompts or questions to use for the ticket to leave: Name one important thing you learned in class today. What did you think was accomplished by the small group activity we did today? Write/ask one question about todays content - something that has left you puzzled.
Exit tickets are an effective way to gather end-of-class feedback, giving students an opportunity to demonstrate what theyve learned and for teachers to be sure that all teaching objectives were met. They can be used to adjust homework assignments or clarify any points discussed in class.
