Hello and welcome to this Ivanti video about whitelisting URLs using Application Control. The URL Redirection feature was updated for the 10.1 FR3 release. In addition to redirecting URLs they can now be actively allowed. The combination of these two options gives you total control of the websites your users access. This video is in two parts - the first part explains how to create a URL whitelist and the second part shows you how you can use Application Control Rules Analyzer to discover the URL of inline frames, so you can also add those to your whitelist. Open the Application Control console and select the Browser Control node for a group. Click Add URL from the Browser Control ribbon. To prevent users accessing all web sites use the asterix wild-card, or HTTP http* in the URL field and set the action to Redirect. You can redirect to a site of your choice or use the default Application Control page, as I am for this example. When a user attempts to navigate to any URL, they are red

There are two ways to register a URL scheme. The easiest option is to define a URL scheme in the URL Types section at the bottom. Click the + button to add a URL scheme. Give the URL scheme an identifier to uniquely identify it.
In the opened Info. plist file, switch to the Information Property List view at the top. To add URL Types, right-click on an empty space, and select Add Row. In the added row, go to the left column and name it URL types.
iOS Custom URL Scheme Go into your apps info. Add a Row to this and call it URL types Expand the first item in URL types and add a row called URL identifier, the value of this string should be the reverse domain for your app e.g. com. Again, add a row into the first item in URL types and call it URL Schemes
Make the ipa file a zip (rename) and extract. Show the package content from the .app file in the Payload folder. Search and open the Info.plist file. Search for CFBundleURLSchemes. Here are your url schemes.
Register your URL scheme Register your scheme in Xcode from the Info tab of your project settings. Update the URL Types section to declare all of the URL schemes your app supports, as shown in the following illustration. In the URL Schemes box, specify the prefix you use for your URLs.
URL schema is used as an identifier in launching applications and performing a set of commands in iOS devices. The schema name of a URL is the first part of a URL. (e.g. schemaname:// ). For web pages, the schemas are usually http or https.
You can use URL schemes in Shortcuts. A URL scheme is the part of a link that specifies the type of application your device uses to open a URL. Many apps support URL schemes: FaceTime uses URL schemes to make calls when a URL starting with facetime:// is opened, just like Safari handles URLs starting with http:// .
Overview. Custom URL schemes provide a way to reference resources inside your app. Users tapping a custom URL in an email, for example, launch your app in a specified context. Other apps can also trigger your app to launch with specific context data; for example, a photo library app might display a specified image.
