Click the workbook, and then click Create New. On the Page Layout tab, in the Themes group, click Themes. To apply a theme to the workbook that every new workbook will use, do one of the following: To apply a predefined document theme, under Built-In, click the document theme that you want to use.
To change your default settings, select Settings Settings. You can select: Keep Excel formatting to preserve any formatting youve applied to cell data in Excel when you refresh. Keep Excel formulas to preserve any formulas that have been set up in Excel when you refresh.
Go to Preferences General At startup, open all files in, and set xlstart as path. Open a new workbook and customize the options as you like. Save the workbook as an Excel template with the name workbook. xltx inside xlstart.
Once youve made changes to your theme, you can save it to use again. Or you can make it the default for new documents. On the Page Layout tab in Excel or the Design tab in Word, click Themes Save Current Theme. In the File name box, enter a name for the theme, and click Save.
To switch to another theme, click Page Layout Themes, and pick the one you want. To customize that theme, you can change its colors, fonts, and effects as needed, save them with the current theme, and make it the default theme for all new workbooks if you want.
Apply themes Select Design Themes. Point to a theme to preview how it will look in your document. Select a theme.
If you havent already applied a theme, on the Design tab, click Themes, and then click the one you want to use. Customize the theme any way you like by changing the colors, fonts, paragraph spacing, watermark, background colors, or page borders on the Design tab.
