[Music] hello welcome to pd minute today wed like to share the 4a protocol which is a wonderful protocol when reading text with students this protocol requires the teacher to find an article or text that he or she would like to read with students so in this instance ive grabbed amanda gormans inaugural poem you can see that ive not only placed a picture of it on my first slide but also a link within the speaker notes so that students are able to easily find this particular text next im going to ask students to read it and as they read this text to think about what assumptions does the author of the text hold what do they agree with in the text what might they like to argue or debate and finally what parts of the text do they want to aspire to or act upon as they think about these questions im going to ask each student to complete the slide that corresponds to their number so i will need to number students or put their names on these slides students will then add their thinking to
