Android: Which Is Best For You?...Trendnet Open a browser and type 192.168. 10.1 into the address bar. Log in to the router settings page (the default username is admin, and the default password is admin). Select WPS under the Wireless menu. Change the WPS drop-down list option to Disable. Select Apply.
Learn how to configure your router to disable Wi-Fi Protected Setup or WPS of router in your Home Network. Using your device, open a web browser, then log in to the Admin console of your home router. ... Click Advance Setup, then select Wireless Settings. Under Wi-Fi Protected Setup settings, tick the Disable Router's PIN.
The WPS button assumes that if someone is in touching range of the router, they're allowed to connect a device to it. So, instead of typing in that lengthy password, you can hit the button and connect a device that way. When you press the button, the router begins looking for compatible devices.
Whilst WPS does achieve this goal, WPS is horribly insecure. A router with WPS enabled is highly vulnerable. A successful attack on your router's WPS function will reveal your network password in a matter of hours – regardless of how strong that password it.
