As remarked above, the first paragraph after a title or section heading is not indented. Every succeeding paragraph should be indented; the tab key on any keyboard will do this for you. For certain kinds of writing, such as technical reports and business letters, there is another format which is sometimes preferred.
Click on the drop-down box and select the "First line" option. Choose the amount you want the lines indented by. You can change this in the "By:" box. Half an inch (0.5”) is the standard indent size.
What does it mean to indent a paragraph? A first-line indent signals to the reader that a new paragraph is starting. To indent, insert a blank space at the paragraph's start, between the left-hand margin and the first word of text. That blank space is the indent.
Select the text you want to adjust. Go to Home and select Line and Paragraph Spacing > Line Spacing Options at the bottom of the menu. The Paragraph dialog box opens. On the Indents and Spacing tab, select the options you want, and click OK.
The side button has several functions: Sleep/wake. Tapping it once puts the iPhone into Sleep mode, ready for incoming calls but consuming very little power. Tapping it again turns on the screen so it's ready for action.
To indent the first line of a paragraph, put your cursor at the beginning of the paragraph and press the tab key. When you press Enter to start the next paragraph, its first line will be indented.
A quick and common way to indent is to use the Tab key. This will create a first-line indent of a half-inch. Place the insertion point at the very beginning of the paragraph you want to indent. Press the Tab key on the keyboard.
Press the Side button to turn on the phone. Press the Side button to turn on the screen lock. Press the Side button to turn on Siri. Slide the Silent mode key right or left to turn silent mode on or off.
The Side button is located on opposite side of the volume buttons. Use the Side button to turn on your iPhone, put it to sleep, use Siri, Apple Pay, and more.
