Unmesh Dinda 0:00 Hi there, this is Unmesh and today Im going to share with you a much better way to create realistic drop shadows in Photoshop. You know whats better than one drop shadow? Multiple ones. Let me show you what I mean. So here we have a colored background and on top of it, we have a simple text. Usually, if we had to add drop shadow to it, how would we do it? Double click on the right hand side of the layer, this would show up the Layer Style dialog box. Now, inside of that, we would probably check Drop Shadow, select that and then control the Opacity, Distance and everything. So, lets zoom in to the text. We can actually move the drop shadow from the image, thats a great tip. So, lets move it right there a little bit. Lets increase the Size and the Opacity. And it looks great. But, it doesnt look fantastic or amazing. How do we make it more realistic? How do we take it up a notch? Heres how we do that. First of all, lets take it even further. And now, lets dec

drop-shadow() Syntax. drop-shadow(offset-x offset-y blur-radius color) Setting a drop shadow using pixel offsets and blur radius. /* Black shadow with 10px blur */ drop-shadow(16px 16px 10px black) Setting a drop shadow using rem offsets and blur radius.
The presence of the inset keyword changes the shadow to one inside the frame (as if the content was debossed inside the box). Inset shadows are drawn inside the border (even transparent ones), above the background, but below content.
The box-shadow CSS property adds shadow effects around an elements frame. You can set multiple effects separated by commas. A box shadow is described by X and Y offsets relative to the element, blur and spread radius, and color.
That syntax is: box-shadow: [horizontal offset] [vertical offset] [blur radius] [optional spread radius] [color]; The horizontal offset (required) of the shadow, positive means the shadow will be on the right of the box, a negative offset will put the shadow on the left of the box.
The text-shadow CSS property adds shadows to text. It accepts a comma-separated list of shadows to be applied to the text and any of its decorations . Each shadow is described by some combination of X and Y offsets from the element, blur radius, and color.
drop-shadow() Syntax. drop-shadow(offset-x offset-y blur-radius color) Setting a drop shadow using pixel offsets and blur radius. /* Black shadow with 10px blur */ drop-shadow(16px 16px 10px black) Setting a drop shadow using rem offsets and blur radius.
If there is something with a shadow or border on your blog that you wish to get rid of, look for the element in the CSS section of your template. Find box-shadow or border property and change it the value to 0 or none .
In CSS, shadows on the boxes of elements are created using the box-shadow property (if you want to add a shadow to the text itself, you need text-shadow ). The box-shadow property takes a number of values: The offset on the x-axis. The offset on the y-axis.
To display the shadow at the bottom of the image, the box-shadow property is used. For this purpose, offset-x is set as 0, offset-y is any positive value, and the color you want to display is also set.
h-shadow To specify a pixel value for the horizontal shadow. v-shadow To specify a pixel value for the vertical shadow. Negative values place the shadow above the image. blur To add a blur effect to the shadow.
