in this tutorial were going to add a shadow to this shoe so that it looks like its floating on the layer Im going to go to select bicolor range because this image is on a white background itll be easier to just select the white and then play with the fuzziness bar so that Ive mapped up shoe itself then go to select inverse to highlight the shoe and use command J to make a new layer that quickly isolates the shoe from the white background that is already on now Im going to create a new layer and were going to call that background layer thats going to be the new background that the shoe will be floating on the white was a little bit stark so I think were going to use sort of a slightly off-white just to stay within the color range there and Im going to use the paint bucket tool to fill that in create another layer and this will be called the shadow layer were going to drag it below the shoe and above the background on this layer Im going to use the ellipse tool and create a e
