in this lesson were going to focus on finding the dark pattern or Shadow pattern or developing a darker Shadow pattern in your painting to make the composition work and also being real aware of that pattern throughout the whole painting because we dont want to lose it thats what sets up the main contrast the main punch of the painting and its kind of two-fold finding the shadow pattern it helps helps us to rearrange the composition if we need to because its the dark shapes that make form in our landscape the light shapes are just there its the darks that create the form and if we can arrange those darks in such a way that makes a nice pattern that flows throughout the composition the composition works better and composition is the number one thing in in painting nothing else works if you dont have composition so its kind of like a a body without a skeleton it just doesnt uh doesnt work so and this is different than the four planes we talk about the four planes of a landscape
