The "*" operator unpacks a list and applies it to a function. The zip function takes n lists and creates n-tuple pairs from each element from both lists: zip([iterable, ...])
It is itertools. izip() : Make an iterator that aggregates elements from each of the iterables. Like zip() except that it returns an iterator instead of a list.
zip() function When you zip something, you bring both sides together. And that's how the zip() function works! It brings elements of the same index from multiple iterable objects together as elements of the same tuples. The zip() function takes in iterables as arguments, such as lists, files, tuples, sets, etc.
set() method is used to convert any of the iterable to sequence of iterable elements with distinct elements, commonly called Set. Parameters : Any iterable sequence like list, tuple or dictionary. Returns : An empty set if no element is passed.
The enumerate() function returns indexes of all items in iterables (lists, dictionaries, sets, etc.) whereas the zip() function is used to aggregate, or combine, multiple iterables.
Basically, it passes the contents of the lists as arguments.
The zip() function returns a zip object, which is an iterator of tuples where the first item in each passed iterator is paired together, and then the second item in each passed iterator are paired together etc.
In python, * is the 'splat' operator. It is used for unpacking a list into arguments. For example: foo(*[1, 2, 3]) is the same as foo(1, 2, 3) . The zip() function takes n iterables, and returns y tuples, where y is the least of the length of all of the iterables provided.
The zip() function returns an iterator of tuples based on the iterable objects. If a single iterable is passed, zip() returns an iterator of tuples with each tuple having only one element. If multiple iterables are passed, zip() returns an iterator of tuples with each tuple having elements from all the iterables.
Python zip() method takes iterable or containers and returns a single iterator object, having mapped values from all the containers. It is used to map the similar index of multiple containers so that they can be used just using a single entity.
