What are DNS record types? DNS record types are records that provide important information about a hostname or domain. These records include the current IP address for a domain. Also, DNS records are stored in text files (zone files) on the authoritative DNS server.
How to set up DNS records? Log in to Control panel. Move to the domain management section (Services/Domains/Domain overview). Choose the domain where you want to set up records. Click on option: Edit DNS. Here you can edit, or add, new DNS records.
An A record maps a domain to the physical IP address of the computer hosting that domain. Internet traffic uses the A record to find the computer hosting your domains DNS settings. The value of an A record is always an IP address, and multiple A records can be configured for one domain name.
On the Hosted zones page, choose the name of the hosted zone that you want to create records in. Choose Create record. Choose and define the applicable routing policy and values.

Geolocation resource record sets only: A complex type that lets you control how Amazon Route 53 responds to DNS queries based on the geographic origin of the query. For example, if you want all queries from Africa to be routed to a web server with an IP address of 192.0.
To clarify my question, the difference between CNAME and A record in a traditional NameServer is that only CNAME can be used to point to a different subdomain and A record must point to a valid IP address. Since the AWS Route53 allows you to do use a subdomain with either A Rec or CNAME ..
Route 53 provides an extension to DNS functionality known as alias records. Similar to CNAME records, alias records let you route traffic to selected AWS resources, such as CloudFront distributions and Amazon S3 buckets.
So whenever we create a hosted zone in Route53, Two types of records automatically created, one is SOA second is NS. Hosted Zone(SOA NS Records)
Right click on the DNS domain zone and select New Host from the context menu. Enter the name and IP address for the record and if you want a reverse pointer to be created. Click Add Host.
