What should your settings be for wedding photography? Huge question, right? Were going to dive into that in just a second. Welcome back to another Quick Tip Tuesday. Im Josiah blizzard and on this channel, we talk about wedding photography tips and I share behind the scenes on wedding and engagements and a question I get a lot on those behind the scenes videos is, what are your settings? And so Im going to break down my settings for you guys today Im going to try and keep this as simple and as brief as possible, but I pretty much separate this into three groups, right. Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. And my main goal for each is to keep my aperture as wide open as possible, my shutter speed fast enough to avoid blurring, and my ISO as low as I can to avoid noise. So lets dive into this. The first thing that I set is my aperture. I want to make sure that I am shooting as wide open as I can because I really, really like blurry backgrounds, right. Shallow depth of field where th

Each setting controls exposure differently: Aperture: controls the area over which light can enter your camera. Shutter speed: controls the duration of the exposure. ISO speed: controls the sensitivity of your cameras sensor to a given amount of light.
Right click the image and on Windows select Properties from the right-click context menu. In the properties window, go to the Details tab and scroll down to the Camera section where you can see which camera was used to take the photo and other camera settings.
Three of the most important settings are shutter speed, ISO, and aperture otherwise known as the exposure triangle, or the three pillars of photography.
Utilizing Shutter Speed In Wedding Photography For ceremonies, we recommend not going under 1/60 seconds to avoid getting a blurry image. For receptions, being that theres a good chance youll be using lighting, shooting between 1/200th to 1/60th will provide the best images.
TTL mode is really helpful for wedding photographers since they move around a lot and dont have enough time to change settings for every shot they take. Flashes that are most common for wedding photography are Canon 600EX-RT, Nikon SB-910, Godox TT350 and Yongnuo YN-622.
T (Time) mode, if available on a camera allows a photographer to expose images for long periods of time by pressing the shutter button once to open the shutter, and again to close the shutter. T (Time) is an alternative to Bulb mode in which the shutter button must remain depressed for exposure to continue.
Every time a moving subject is to be captured during a wedding, AI Servo AF is the mode to use. This AF mode is optimised for capturing moving subjects by holding down the shutter button midway, even while the focusing distance is changing rapidly.
TTL mode is useful for wedding photographers because they are required to move around a lot during the event and do not have enough time to change the settings of their camera for each shot they take.
How to choose camera settings for indoor photography. Keep ISO as low as possible (around 100) Use an aperture of f/4 or lower for portraits and f/11 for wide shots. Select the white balance preset or use a custom setting for the specific lighting conditions. Shoot in RAW photo format for better editing.
For wedding couples portrait photography, youll need an aperture somewhere between f/1.4 and f/2.8. When you photograph the wedding venue and wide shots the guests, you can consider using a higher aperture value.
