In order to get a photo pass, you have to make a request and be approved by a gatekeeper, generally an artists publicist or a promoter. There are a lot of factors in requesting a photo pass and how requests are judged. First, theres the reason for the request.
People Can Replicate Them All people have to do is see a photo of either a ticket stub or a pass to replicate them, and this can lead to a variety of issues. Firstly, if a person creates a version of your ticket but successfully reproduces the barcode, they could potentially bypass the scanner at the venue.
We recommend you download the Ticketmaster app and add mobile tickets to your digital wallet before you get to the theatre. You wont be able to use screenshots of tickets to get into the performance, so please transfer any additional tickets prior to arrival.
Once a ticket is scanned, it becomes void. So if your ticket is replicated and the person with the copy gets to the venue before you, you wont be able to get into the show because your barcode will already have been scanned into the system. Thus, they got into the venue for free, and you lost your money.
Some venues require that the tickets are printed before arrival, while others may require the tickets to be shown from a mobile device.
Theyll usually allow if not encourage you to bring your camera and take some photos. Youre not getting paid for it, but youre there to build your portfolio. It helps the band, it helps the venue, and there really arent any restrictions.
Can I use a screenshot of my ticket to enter an event? No.
There is nothing illegal about taking pictures of a concert. The concert venue might not allow photos but that is another thing. The most they can do there is ask you to stop taking pictures and/or leave. Failure to leave means they can have you arrested for trespassing.
