In this module, we revisit classroom management, building on previous discussions about frameworks for behavior management with three levels: universal strategies for all students, targeted strategies for at-risk students, and intensive strategies for those already displaying disruptive behavior. Addressing challenging behavior requires understanding the unique context behind each situation rather than relying on generic approaches. We will explore a four-step model called Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) to understand and intervene effectively with students exhibiting emotional and behavioral problems, emphasizing the importance of identifying the causes of disruptive behavior before implementing interventions.
