On iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max, you can use Camera to take photos in Apple ProRAW.
Higher image quality translates into more available data when it comes to photo editing, giving RAWs a definitive edge over JPEGs. Editing programs like docHub Camera RAW, Bridge, or Lightroom are built for fine-tuning RAWs into polished final photos.
For iPhone 11 and earlier, you have to use a third-party camera app to take classic RAW photos. Apple ProRAW is not available for these iPhone models. If you have an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 non-pro model you can take only classic RAW photos using a third-party camera app.
Change Apple ProRAW resolution On iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, you can capture ProRAW photos in 12 MP and 48 MP. Go to Settings Camera Formats. Turn on Apple ProRAW (green is on), tap ProRAW Resolution, then choose 12 MP or 48 MP.
To open a RAW file, you need image editing software such as docHub Photoshop or docHub Lightroom. The most appropriate software to open a RAW file depends on your camera type and computer operating system or smartphone. After opening a RAW file, you can then convert and export it in your desired image format.
How to take RAW photos on iPhone Open Settings, then scroll down and select Camera. (Image credit: Future) Tap Formats. (Image credit: Future) Under Photo Capture, tap the Apple ProRAW switch to toggle it on. (Image credit: Future) Open the Camera app and tap the RAW icon, top right.
Making the Switch From JPEG to RAW STEP ONE: Select RAW on your camera. To begin with, you need to change from JPEG to RAW as your shooting format in your camera. STEP TWO: Shoot! STEP THREE: Connect your camera to your computer and upload your files. STEP FOUR: Edit your Photo! STEP FIVE: Save file as a JPEG.
Even better, you can easily toggle between shooting in RAW and JPEG and just JPEG, allowing you to shoot more editable pictures when you need to and save on storage when you dont. Check out our best Androids phone list to find the best cameras to shoot in RAW.
To shoot in RAW on your Android phone, it needs to support an Android operating system called the Camera2 API. This must be implemented by the devices manufacturer and cannot be added via an app. So if your phone doesnt support it, then RAW shooting is not available.
In camera settings click on quality (Canon) and choose Raw. If you cant find it, grab your camera manual and look for Raw. 2. Take a few pictures with your camera in Raw mode.
