user passwords can be secured using group policy im on a domain controller and im going to go to tools and server manager and open up group policy management next im going to go to the default domain policy right click and choose edit im going to expand the computer policies followed by the windows settings and the security settings then ill go to account policies and the password policy here are all the options for all the different types of password policies we have the enforce password history so that way users cannot keep using the same passwords over and over now 24 seems like a lot that would mean that the user would have to remember 24 different passwords before they could start over again so you may want to choose something like 5 on that and ill click ok now weve got the maximum password age by default its 42 days and you can go a lot longer than this if you want if you have a really good password theres no reason that you would have to change it that often the minim
