If you work for one employer during the year, in most cases, youll only have one W-2 form to account for. However, if you work for multiple employers at the same time, or for different employers at various times throughout the year, you may have multiple W-2s, all of which must be included when filing your taxes.
The SSA provides two free e-filing options on its Business Services Online (BSO) website. W-2 Online. Use fill-in forms to create, save, print, and submit up to 50 Forms W-2 at a time to the SSA. File Upload.
You might get more than one W-2 if you work for an employment agency or your company changed ownership or payroll providers. If your W-2s are identical down to the last number and letter, just enter one of them. Keep the duplicate with your tax records or securely destroy it.
In most cases, youll need two pages for each employee, with Copy B and the instructions on the first page, and the rest of the copies on the second page. In special cases, some employees have more data and need more than two pages.
Size and Print Requirements The page size is 8.5 x 11 with 2 forms per page. Information should be printed at 12 characters per inch (cpi), with Courier font recommended.
Forms must be printed on 8.5 x 11-inch single-sheet paper only. There must be two Forms W-2 (Copy A) printed on a page. There must be no horizontal perforations between the two Forms W-2 (Copy A) on each page.
You might receive more than one Form W-2 if you changed jobs or worked for more than one employer during a tax year. To report more than one Form W-2: From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Federal).
Typically, employers have until Jan. 31, to send the prior year Form W-2 earnings statement to their employees. If an employer is mailing Forms W-2 to their employees, they must be postmarked by Jan. 31, so it may take a week or so to arrive.

W-2 Box D: W-2 Boxes E and F: Employees name, address, and ZIP code. W-2 Box 1: Wages, tips, other compensation. W-2 Box 2: Federal income tax withheld.
