we almost have our first draft all right so now were looking at references generally speaking you dont have to put references on your resume usually employers will ask for that as a separate thing but again if you dont have a ton of job experience you definitely want to put it in dont put available upon request right in that case just dont put the section at all like here you actually want to list two to three good references maybe one or two that are going to be strong for you and again you want to make sure youre picking someone that knows you well right but also knows you in sort of a professional context it doesnt really help to have your mom as a reference right like because obviously your moms bias theyre going to think youre the greatest thing in the world you know most employers arent going to take them that seriously so heres somewhere where you want to put maybe a teacher or a coach you worked with or maybe if youre in like a youth group with the church like some

Include your first and last name on your resume. If you have a very common name think James Smith or Maria Garcia consider including your middle name or middle initial to help distinguish you from the other 30,000+ professionals who share your full name.
A preferred or chosen name is not a persons legal name. For example, a man whose legal name is Robert may wish to go by his preferred name, Bob. When a transgender or non-binary person selects a name that affirms their gender identity, that new name is usually called a chosen name.
Tips to write a good resume file name Tip 1: Follow the instructions stated in the job description. Tip 2: Include your first and last name. Tip 3: Make your file name reflect your personal brand. Tip 4: Separate words with hyphens or underscores. Tip 5: Exclude version numbers. Tip 6: Keep your resume file name short.
A preferred/chosen name is any name a student chooses to use other than their legal name. For example, a student may wish to shorten their first name (e.g. Steven to Steve) or to be referred to by their middle name or a nickname.
Resumes and cover letters are not legal documents, so it is acceptable to list your preferred name on them. The way that some people do this is by listing the first initial of their legal name, followed by their preferred name (e.g. M. Andrew Smith).
Always put your full name (first and last) at the top of each page of your resume. You can use your given name (Joseph), or a preferred name (Joe). You can also include your middle name or initial if you prefer. However, we recommend that you dont use a nickname that may appear unprofessional, such as Bubba or Ace.
A few options: Put your preferred name in quotation marks. Ex: Jane Celestia Doe. Put your legal name in parentheses behind your preferred name. Just use your preferred name on your resume and leave off your legal name. Use your legal name on your resume and then tell them your actual name in the interview.
