Signature Leave about five blank lines then print your name and job title so that the recipient can see clearly who the letter has come from and what your position is within the organisation.
When addressing an envelope, include both the senders address and the recipients address. Write the senders name and address in the upper left-hand corner. Write the company name if youre sending from a business. The recipients name and address should be placed on the center of the letter.
The salutation (or greeting) in a business letter is always formal. It often begins with Dear {Persons name}. Once again, be sure to include the persons title if you know it (such as Ms., Mrs., Mr., or Dr). If youre unsure about the persons title or gender then just use their first name.
First include your name, address, phone number, and the date. This information should be located at the top of the page, either in the center, or indented on the right side of the paper. You then include the name and address of the person to whom you are sending the letter.
The seven parts of a business letter are: senders address, date, recipient address, salutation, body, closing salutation and signature. If you have documents attached with the letter, include a list of enclosures after the signature.
