Spacing Between Sentences APA 7 requires only one space between sentences after a period or other ending punctuation (APA, 2020, Section 6.1).
In general, double-space all parts of an APA Style paper, including the abstract; text; block quotations; table and figure numbers, titles, and notes; and reference list (including between and within entries). Do not add extra space before or after paragraphs.
Select the text you want to change. On the Format menu, click Paragraph, and then click the Indents and Spacing tab. Under Line spacing, in the Between lines box, type or select the amount of spacing you want between lines of text.
Single-space part of a document Select the paragraphs you want to change. Go to Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing . Choose 1.0.
Select Home > Line and Paragraph Spacing, and choose the spacing you want. To customize spacing, select Line Spacing Options. You can adjust several areas including spacing before and after paragraphs.
To change the line spacing, select the lines you want to change. Then go to the Home tab and find the line spacing button in the Paragraph section. The line spacing button triggers a dropdown menu from which you can select a line spacing.
Line spacing is the space between each line in a paragraph. Word allows you to customize the line spacing to be single spaced (one line high), double spaced (two lines high), or any other amount you want. The default spacing in Word is 1.08 lines, which is slightly larger than single spaced.
Your paper should be double spaced unless otherwise specified by your unit assessor. There should be no extra spacing between paragraphs. This does not include the title page (see Figure 1), within tables and figures, footnotes or equations. Your paper should have a 1in.
Your essay should be typed, double-spaced on standard-sized paper (8.5" x 11") with 1" margins on all sides. You should use a clear font that is highly readable. APA recommends using 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
