The most common order to print wet on wet is light to dark. Meaning the lightest color is first on press after the white base, then print the next lightest color all the way to the darkest color.
To expose the screen-printing frame, any source of white light can be used, with certain limitations that Ill explain below, otherwise, a more professional solution would be to use a UV light source. The UV light source can simply be a standard UV neon light.
All screen printing works on that principle. The ink is normally applied in that colour order Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black although that can vary with some printers.
CMYK Printing Methods The colours are individually applied, starting with black, and then the rest of the process colours are applied in the order- cyan, magenta and yellow. In both offset and flexography the popular printing methods, each colours is applied or printed one at a time to produce the desired end colour.
UV exposure units are specifically designed for the screen printing industry, offering a consistent and efficient method for exposing screens. These units use ultraviolet (UV) light to harden the emulsion applied to screens, ensuring a clear and sharp image transfer.
The first step in the process of screen printing is to create the design. Once a design has been decided upon, it is printed onto a transparent acetate film, which will then be used to create the screen or stencil.
UV LED lights are ideal for screen exposures. Photopolymer emulsions are fast and UV LEDs accelerate the exposure process, greatly cutting down on exposure time. Reducing exposure time and improving screen turnaround is a highly valuable benefit in any work environment.
