hey this is ralph and in this video i want to use images as an unordered list bullet so i was listening to the syntax podcast the other day and they made reference to feathericons.com so checking them out you can adjust size pretty easy adjust the stroke width or the border the outline and change the color pretty easily so lets see im going to grab a check square and i want to use this as the bullet for a unordered list or a bulleted list so im going to click on this particular item im going to save it into my images folder check dash square thats a great file name save it now i already have a blank page started off but i need to put in the content so lets jump over to the editor and right after the header before the footer im going to go ahead and create an unordered list im going to give it a class though because i wouldnt necessarily want this style to be true for all unlearned lists on my website or my webpage all right so ive given that a class and lets go ahead and um

The list-style-image property in CSS is used to set the image that will be used as the list item marker.
In order for list-style-image to work it has to be list-item display, display:inline; wont show it. You could place it as a background iamge though. IE6/7 automatically make floated items block level though, so use a bg image instead.
The CSS list-style-image property defines the image to use as the list item marker, which is the image that appears before each list item.
The list-style-type property specifies the type of list item marker.
image-set is a CSS function that allows you to make an image responsive, showing variations of the same picture for different screen resolutions when needed. This function is almost the same as the HTML srcset attribute for img tags.
The list-style-image CSS property sets an image to be used as the list item marker. It is often more convenient to use the shorthand list-style .
The list-style-type CSS property sets the marker (such as a disc, character, or custom counter style) of a list item element.
The list-style-type property can be used to specify the type of marker to use for list items. Its value defaults to disc. The list-style-type value will be used if list-style-image is none or if the image that list-style-image points to cant be displayed.
The CSS list-style-type property defines the marker of a list item. By default, the value is disc, which sets the marker to a bullet. An unordered list will therefore appear as a bulleted list whether the CSS list-style-type property is set to disc or not defined at all.
Answer: The list-style-image property is used to specify an image that is to be used as a marker (bullet) for list items or elements with display: list-item . When the image is available, it will replace the the marker set using the list-style-type property.
