welcome to Excel campus my name is John and in this video I have an excel formula challenge for you so this challenge is based on a competition within a sales team and whoever makes the first sale of the month gets a little bonus so here on the right side we have this table of sales data and each row in the table contains one sales transaction and our job here is to write a formula that will return the first sale of each month in the year so we want to write a formula right here that returns the name of the person that made the first sale in each month of the year and so we use the date column here column F to determine who made the first sale and the only real criteria here is that you cannot sort the date column so that makes this a little more challenging because you wont be able to sort the date column from oldest to newest or newest to oldest to try and figure that out and you can download this excel file that contains the challenge over on the Excel campus blog so here is the bl
