hey guys welcome to the ITSM of the week today I wanted to go over a couple of different ways to attach a halyard or a line to a flagpole cleat or the flagpole itself so thats done with a couple of things were going to go over the cleat lock or the cleat hitch and then also a flagpole lock or a flagpole hitch and thats just a way of cleaning up and dressing up the halyard or the line itself once youre done if you have excess cordage so lets get right into it okay so for the first step in tying the cleat hitch or the cleat lock is to start wrapping just like you normally would on a cleat but then to lock off the rope youre basically going to take it in your finger here and twist so I like to use two fingers take the twist like this and then lock like that so what that does is it just gives you a an extra point of redundancy there with with kind of locking off that rope as you can tell its kind of trapped by this now so versus just the normal wraps like this youre actually Ill
