The ps Command Current status of the process. Process ID. Parent process ID. User ID. Scheduling class. Priority. Address of the process. Memory used.
The ps command writes the status of active processes and if the -m flag is given, displays the associated kernel threads to standard output. While the -m flag displays threads associated with processes using extra lines, you must use the -o flag with the THREAD field specifier to display extra thread-related columns.
Note – Sometimes when we execute ps command, it shows TIME as 00:00:00. It is nothing but the total accumulated CPU utilization time for any process and 00:00:00 indicates no CPU time has been given by the kernel till now.

The ps command, run periodically, displays the CPU time under the TIME column and the ratio of CPU time to real time under the %CPU column. Look for the processes that dominate usage. The au and v options give similar information on user processes.
The CPU stats in top give you information about what your CPU(s) are up to. It shows you the percentage of time that the computer's CPUs spent on performing different types of tasks. This data is basically real-time, so the numbers you see are based on the interval since the last screen refresh.
See What Programs You Are Running: ps The first column is the Process ID Number (PID#), the second is the number of the line you logged into (TTY). The other column in the display that we need to worry about is the last one, COMMAND, which tells you what the names of the programs are that are running.
The psr BASIC program displays formatted output of the status of the currently active UNIX and/or D3 processes. psr {port.number} {(options} Parameter(s) options.
By default, it prints the processes of the current user and terminal in four columns: PID – the process id. TTY – terminal associated with the process. TIME – elapsed CPU utilization time for the process. CMD – the executable command.
C column means "processor utilization for scheduling ", so it shows the percentage of time in schedule spent on certain process.
