To insert a field using the Field dialog box: Navigate to the location in the Word document where you want to insert a field. Click the Insert tab in the Ribbon. Click Quick Parts. Select Field. In the list of Field names, select a field. Under Field properties, select any properties or options you want.
To set up those custom fields, go into the Info menu in Word, and on the right side of the screen, click on the dropdown arrow next to Properties Advanced Properties. In this pop-up, you can add the recipient field by name. Select text as the type and the value. Click Add, and then OK.
View or create custom properties for the current file Click the File tab. Click Info. Click Properties at the top of the page, and then select Advanced Properties. Notes: Click the Custom tab. In the Name box, type a name for the custom property, or select a name from the list. Click OK.

You can use the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Variables collection to set and retrieve the contents of a string variable in a Word document or template. Also, you can use the DocVariable field to retrieve the value of a document variable after it has been set to display within a Word document.
You can format your document in a newspaper-style column layout by adding columns. On the Layout tab, click Columns, then click the layout you want. To apply columns to only part of your document, with your cursor, select the text that you want to format. On the Layout tab, click Columns, then click More Columns.
Change text alignment To align the text left, press Ctrl+L. To align the text right, press Ctrl+R. To center the text, press Ctrl+E.
Style Sets include a combination of title, heading and paragraph styles and allow you to format all of the elements in your document at once (after you have applied styles).
Click Menus tab. Click File menu. Choose Page Setup in the drop down menu.
Specify text direction in a shape or text box Right-click the edge of the shape or text box that contains the text. On the shortcut menu, select Format Shape. In the left pane of the dialog box, select Text Box. Under Text layout, select the option that you want in the Text direction list. Select Close.
